ORTHODONTIC CONCERN

Expansion

What is Expansion?

Expansion is treatment used to widen a narrow upper jaw or dental arch. It may help correct a crossbite, improve the fit between the arches, or create space. The appliance and technique depend on skeletal maturity and the amount of widening needed; options may include conventional, miniscrew-assisted, or surgically assisted expansion.
